When Daniel was 24 years old he married Catharine Doerr (1855-1887) on February 17, 1874 in Heidelberg in Wellesley Twp; Marriage Register #009640.
She gave him 6 children, Edward (1875-1939), Amanda (1876-1945), Jacob (1877-1953), Melvina (1879-1897), Josiah (1882-1947) and Angeline (1884-1926).
Catharine pssed away in 1887.
Daniel then married Magdalena Stuebing (1852-1932) sometime after 1887, and she gave him 2 more sons, Henry Johann (1890-1958) and Herbert Harry Michael (1894-1973).
Daniel Fries passed away in his 82nd year in Kitchener, Ontario of Apoplexy (Stroke). Death Certificate #033577.
