COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Henry Harley Anderson, 79, of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, May 23, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Anderson died Monday, May 20, 2002, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born July 29, 1922, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Miles Wesley and Rebecca Hamilton Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a retired locksmith who was employed for 40 years with Stamps Key and Lawnmower.
He was a member of Double Springs Church of Christ. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World and the Dillard Judd
Camp S.C.V.
His family includes his wife, Ruby Gunnels Anderson of Cookeville; a daughter, Sharon Anderson of Cookeville; motherinlaw, Carmon Gunnels of Cookeville; a brotherinlaw,
R.C. Gunnels of Cookeville; a sister and brotherinlaw,
Pauline and Carlos "Jack" Ballard of Baxter; four sistersinlaw and a brotherinlaw, Bonnie Anderson of Cookeville, Emma Anderson of California, Lucille and Donald Anderson and Betty Fine, all of Cookeville; six nephews, Donald, Robert, Ronnie, Gary and Ricky Anderson and Eldon Ballard; and five nieces, Jean and Patti Anderson, Kathy Lamb, Donna Laird and Leslie Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fatherinlaw, Frank Gunnels; two brothers, Charlie and Garland Anderson; and a sisterinlaw, Clara Belle Gunnels.
