Douglas Tanner Fairbanks, age 83, passed away Jan. 12, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born June 19,1917 in Salt Lake City, UT to Lynn R. and Jennie Lynn Tanner Fairbanks.

He married Ruth Naomi Dowden Dec 2, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

His life was marked by his selfless love and devotion to his family.

He truly learned and lived the ultimate level of love, which was that of giving.

He will be remembered by his family and friends for his cheerful, unselfish nature, and for his conviction of what was right.

He was faithful in the gospel to the end.

Survived by one son, Douglas Larry (Sharon) Fairbanks; two daughters, Margie F. Ware and Renee (Jim) Moore; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, LuJean Weston, MaryLynn (Rulon) Burningham.

Preceded in death by his wife, parents, stepmother, Katie B. Fairbanks, brothers, Reed Fairbanks, Max Fairbanks; sisters, Norma (Orin) Romney, Kathryn Kirk.

Services will be held Mon. Jan 15, 2001, 12 noon at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr, where friends and family may call Sun. 5-7 p.m. and Mon 11-11:45 a.m., prior to services.

Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
