William C. Murray, 83, of Millwood, died this morning in Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
He was a lifelong resident of the Millwood Community and was the son of the late J. M. Murray and Mary Beverly Murray and husband of the late Mrs. Roena Bennett Murray.
A retired farmer, he was a member of the Indian Mound Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, William J. Murray of Millwood; two daughters, Mrs. C. E. Duncan and Mrs. Charlie Thomas, both of Waycross; four sisters, Mrs. Eula Leggett of Chiefland, Fla., Mrs. Josie Bennett, Mrs. Hattie Harden and Mrs. Rena Joyner, all of Waycross; 28 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy.
Burial will be in Hargraves Chapel Cemetery.
The body will be carried to the residence tomorrow at 5 p.m.
Miles-Odum Funeral Home is in charge.
