Funeral services for Rodger Dale York were held Tuesday, September 26 at 10:30 A.M. in the Sayre First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Cooksey officiating.

Private graveside services for the family will be held in the Lone Oak Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.

Rodger, the son of A.H. (Buck) and Dorothy York, was born December 19, 1949 at Sayre, OK and passed away Sunday, September 24, 1989 at the age of 39 in the Elk City Community Hospital.

He attended the Sayre Public Schools. On April 3, 1971 he married Barbara Ann Davis. After their marriage they lived in Tulsa, Sayre and moved to Elk City in 1980 to make their home. He owned and operated Yorks Backhoe and Ditching Service.

Rodger was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, of the home; one daughter. Lindsey, and one son, Mark, both of the home; his mother and father. Buck and Dorothy York of Sayre; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Wayne of Sayre and Alan and Jan York of Carter; two sisters and brother-in-laws; Rhonda and Joc Russell of Sayre, Joy and Gary Rippetoe of Carter; his father and mother-in-law. Carl and Sylvia Davis of Erick.
