Actor. Born in Jamestown, Virginia, he was best remember for his role as 'Bubba Hoover' on the popular television comedy series "Sanford and Son" from 1972 to 1977. He also reprised the 'Bubba' character in the short-lived sequel, "The Sanford Arms" (1977). His other television credits included "Laverne & Shirley", "Cheers", "T.J. Hooker", "Hunter" and "True Colors". For feature films, he appeared in "What's Up Doc" (1972), "Sparkle" (1976), "Little Miss marker" (1980) and "Vibes" (1988). He died at age 87 in Hampton, Virginia.
