Bodies of six Lorain County men who gave their lives in the service of their country in World War II are now on their way back to the United States aboard the Army Transport Greenville Victory, the Department of the Army announced today.

The ship is carrying the bodies of 3,734 Americans, including 224 Ohioans. The bodies originally were buried in temporary military cemeteries in France. The ship is expected to arrive in New York within a few days, and ceremonies will be held there at 11 a.m. on the day of arrival.
