Harry A. Gellenbeck, 82, a long-time resident, died early Tuesday in Clarks Creek Healthcare Center, Plainfield. He was born April 2, 1903 in Carrington, N.D. He came to Lafayette in 1910 (this date is incorrect, it should be 1916) where he lived until moving to Indianapolis in 1952. He was a home building contractor for AHM Graves Co. in Indianapolis from 1952-1962. Mr. Gellenbeck was a member of Church of God in Lafayette and Isaak Walton League. Surviving are his widow, the former Talapha Aldred; a son, Ron Gellenbeck of Indianapolis; three daughters, Kathy Whetzel of Hartford City, Mary Gibson of Missouri, and Gladys Averett of Lousisana; four step-children, Fred Truesdell, Time Truesdell, Naomi Hutsell and Judy Black all of Indianapolis; a brother Hughy Gellenbeck of Lafayette; and two sisters, Tillie VanMeter of Colfax and Dorothy Flack of Lafayette.

Funeral Notice: Gellenbeck, Harry A. Calling 3-8 pm today, Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Graveside service, 1 pm Thursday, Spring Vale Cemetery, Lafayette. Surviving are 63 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Married: Gladys Irene Brant on May 12, 1926 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe, IN. She passed away May 6, 1947 at age 37. He then remarried to Talapha Aldred.
