Born in Westminster, Feb. 22, 1917, Mr. Fendley was retired from Beacon Mfg. Co., was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church and was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Fendley was also a life-long resident of Westminster.
Survivors include A son, Robert Douglas Fendley, and wife, Linda, of Westminster; a sister, Mrs. Louise Harris, of Westminster; brothers, Furman Fendley of Union, S.C., and Raymond and Dan Fendley, both of Westminster; three grandchildren, Jackie McBride, and husband, David, Leigh Ferrante, and husband, Chris, and Robert Jason Fendley, and wife, Dana; and two great-grandchildren, Julia Elizabeth Ferrante and Robert Coleman "Cole" Fendley.
Mr. Fendley was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Landers Fendley; parents, Robert Elam and Julia Rholetter Fendley; brothers, Ervin and Joe Fendley; half sisters, Lala Dyar, Margie Price and Veda Isbell; and half brothers, Otto and William H. Fendley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 23, 2002, in the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home, with the Rev. John McKnight officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
The body is at the Sandifer Funeral Home in Westminster, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today, prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be directed to Faith Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 296, Westminster, SC 29693.
