Mrs. Hart was born Nov. 15, 1928, in Greenville to the late Bernard L. Westbrook and Alice Wilda Carroll.
She worked for Doctors Mauldin and Weinberg and also worked for South Central Bell in McComb before she was married. She and her husband Alvin lived in Metairie, La., for 33 years until his retirement from Greyhound Buslines. They were members of Williams Boulevard Baptist Church until they moved to Summit, when they joined First Baptist Church of McComb.
Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Alvin C. Hart Sr.; one brother, Carroll "Tiny" Westbrook; and one sister-in-law, Frances Hart Prestridge.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Beverly H. Bartee and Michael of Metairie, Wilda H. Geddie and Don of Magnolia, and Nina E. Hart of Summit; two sons, Alvin C. Hart Jr. of Kenner, La., and Fredrick B. Hart of Summit; five grandchildren, Richard H. Johnson III of Magnolia, James Allen Bartee of Baton Rouge, William Hart Bartee of Metairie, Kristina Hart Burkard and her husband Andy of Hammond, La., and Cami Diane Hart of Destrehan, La.; one great-grandson, Thomas Andrew Burkard of Hammond; two brothers, Bernard Westbrook and his wife Barbara, and William Westbrook and his wife Rhoda, all of McComb; sister-in-law, Alma Westbrook of McComb; and three brothers-in-law, Martin Hart and his wife Florence, Waide Hart and his wife Mae, all of Summit, and James Prestridge of Pensacola, Fla. Pallbearers will be Dennis, Donald, Daniel and Nathan Hart, James Bartee and Brett Freeman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Favorite Few Class at First Baptist Church in McComb, Helping Hands Group at Central Baptist Church or Miss Mattie's Special Few Class at McComb Library.
