Funeral services were said at two o'clock Saturday afternoon from Beauregard Methodist Church, for J. T. Granberry, beloved former resident of McComb.

Mr. Granberry had been in ill health for about three years, but his sudden critical illness and death came as a shock to his family and host of friends. He was a retired dairy farmer who spent most of his life in McComb and vicinity, a leader in dairying, farming and other circles of community activity.

Rev. W. S. Cameron of Jackson, a former pastor of the deceased; Rev. H. L. Daniels of Vicksburg; Rev. Seth W. Granberry of Jackson; Rev. C. O. Daniels, Mars Hill, and Rev. M. K. Miller of LaBranch Methodist Church, McComb, participated in the last rites.

Pallbearers were his sons-in-law, Messrs. Hugh M. Godbold, Leon Dunaway, B. L. Bowlin, Charles O. Daniels, E. L. Godbold, Sr., and Jesse Granberry.

His first wife preceded him in death by ten years, and nine years ago he married the former Mrs. Bettye Hennington of Beauregard, who survives him, as do six daughters, Mrs. John W. Caston, Summit; Mrs. H. M. Godbold, Mrs. B. L. Bowlin, and Mrs. Leon Dunaway, all of McComb; Mrs. E. L. Godbold, Sr., Port Arthur, Tex., and Mrs. C. O. Daniels, Mars Hill. He also leaves 20 grandchildren and a number of step-children; a brother, George R. Granberry, Hazlehurst, and two sisters, Mrs. P. C. Edwards and Mrs. J. D. Edwards, both of McComb.

Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb.
