Chas. A. Gardner Dies at His Home

Charles A. Gardner, 68, retired machinist for the New York Central Railway Co., died yesterday morning at his home.

Prior to his retirement five years ago, he was employed in the machine shop of the company at Dickinson.

Mr. Gardner had lived in and near Malden all his life. He was a mason and a member of the Knights of Pythias and a member of Salina lodge No. 27 AF&AM, Malden, and Rhododendron lodge No. 209 at Diamond.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Butler of Rand, Mrs. Margaret Bonome and Mrs. Florence Wright of Malden; four sons, Sterling R. of Belle, Charles W., Phillip and Kenneth all of Malden; two brothers, J. S. of Snow Hill and Cleve H. of Charleston; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The body is at Owen and Barth mortuary and will be taken to the residence today at 1 p.m. Service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Methodist Church at Malden, Rev. C. C. Jarvis and Rev. J. H. Carson will officiate. Burial will be in the Cunningham Memorial Park.
