Dorothy Grafton, age 80, of Laclede, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at her home. A funeral service will be Saturday, November 29, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Linneus with Rev. Sue Lambert officiating. Visitation will begin Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Linneus. Memorials to Elmwood Cemetery may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, P.O. Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628. Dorothy Jean, daughter of Cary Dean and Mary Imogene (Northcutt) Thorp, was born October 18, 1928, in New London. On June 29, 1948, she married Harold Pinion Ady who preceded her in death on November 14, 1950. On March 1, 1953, she married Lloyd Grafton. Mrs. Grafton was raised in New London. She was a graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia and served as a home agent for Linn County for two years for the University Extension. She was member of the United Methodist Church in Linneus and the United Methodist Women. She and her husband, Lloyd were members of Tanglefoot Squares. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd of the home; one daughter, Karen Fay and husband, John of Brookfield; one son, Ronald Grafton of Laclede; six grandchildren, Eleanor Bradley and husband, Brandon of Columbia, John Franklin Fay of Kansas City, Caroline Frizzell and husband, Chris of Chillicothe, Wendy Burton and husband, J. T. of Meadville, Bobby Grafton of Meadville, and Rebecca Grafton of Columbia; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Cary Thorp and wife, Peggy of Lincoln, Nebraska; one sister-in-law, Grace Grafton of Brookfield; and two nieces, Melinda Hunke and husband, Chris of Omaha, Nebraska and Shawna LichtenWalner and husband, Todd of Blountsville, Tennessee. Her parents and one sister, Shirley Thorp preceded her in death.
