She was born June 20, 1906, in New Harmony, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Ann Murphy Schenk. She attended Stewartsville United Methodist Church and had been active in the Posey County Democratic Party and the Rebekah Lodge. Survived by a son, three daughters, two grandsons, three granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Stedman B. Alexander. Funeral Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, at Werry Funeral Home Poseyville Chapel, with the Rev. William Ping officiating. Burial was in Stewartsville Cemetery.
