Bernice Mitchell, 92, Bloomington, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 30, 2010) at Martin Health Center, Bloomington.
She was born July 18, 1918 in El Paso to John G. and Laura Bailey Crusius. She married Harold L. Norton on March 30, 1947 in El Paso. He passed away Jan. 16, 1976. She later married Alva R. Mitchell on Oct. 9, 1981 in Bloomington. He passed away Oct. 24, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Lawrence and Kenneth Crusius.
Surviving are four stepdaughters, Erma Martin, Ottawa; Verla (Gary) Fullerton, Longs, S.C.; Sandra J. (Paul) Roop-Holt, LeRoy and Judi (Frank) Platt, Greenview; 17 step grandchildren; 24 step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lowell A. (Beverly) Crusius, Normal; six nieces; one nephew and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
