Randal Scott Turpin, age 45, died January 27, 1993 at home after a prolonged illness.

Born November 20, 1947 in Salt Lake City to Randal J. and Marion Ruth Vieweg Turpin. Graduated from Granite High School in 1966. Served an LDS Mission in the Central British Mission 1967-69.

Married his high school sweetheart Deborah Tolman in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 12, 1969. He was a member of XI Corps Artillery, Utah National Guard 1970-77, attended BYU, U of U and graduated from Salt Lake Community College with two associate degrees. He worked for South East Furniture, GESCO and Utah State Tax Commission.

His life was dedicated to his family and church. He served in Elders and High Priest quorums, in several teaching positions and as a ward clerk. He loved every aspect of the out-of-doors. To all who knew him he was an example of courage, strength and a strong determination to live.

Survived by his wife and four children, Nicole Kitchen and husband, Dustin; Benita; Tarina and Trevor Randal; granddaughter, Kelsey Nicole Kitchen; mother-in-law; parents; brother, Jeffrey Lee; sisters, Susan Tolman, husband Mitchell; and Lisa Redford, husband Rick; grandmother, Lois Turpin.

Extended love and thanks to the staff of in Home Health Care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 1993 in the Peruvian Park Ward, 1500 East 8600 So. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St.and Saturday at the church one hour prior to service.

Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
