OBITUARY:
CAME TO CLARISSA IN 1898. As a young woman of 18, she was married on March 29, 1898, at Browerville to D.C. Sales, moving with her husband to their present farm 2 miles north of this village and living there ever since. Since most of her lifetime was spent in the Clarissa community and the past 42 years of it on the farm north of Clarissa, Mrs. Sales was a part of the Clarissa community and gained many friends here.
Three sisters, two brothers and eight children all survive Her death making a unique record in as much as no family death occurred in Mrs. Sales family during her lifetime. Surviving their mother are four sons and four Daughters; Mrs George Berczyk of Browerville. Mrs Fred Hervey , of Brainerd; Marion Sales, Clarissa; Robert Sales, Brainerd; Mrs. Gust Magnell, Clarissa; and William, Virgil and Hazel, at home. The three sisters who survive are Mrs. W.H. Sumey, of Clarissa; Mrs. Sarah Eckroat, of Eagle Bend; and Mrs. Chas. Anderson of Portal, North Dakota. The two brothers who survive are Herman Siltman, of Max, Minn; and Ike Siltman, of Jamestown, North Dakota.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 PM Monday form the Sales home and at 2:30 PM from the local Methodist Church, with Rev. Ralph Gebhard conducting the last rites, Burial was made in the Woodman Cemetery, east of the village.
All children were present at her death, including Mrs Sales' niece, Mrs C.M. Waldahl, and in addition to these, the following out of town relatives were present at the funeral. Mr and Mrs Chas.
