Funeral services for Mrs. Joy C. Brown, 64, of Smyrna, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2001, from the chapel of Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Johnny Fox officiating. Burial was in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Hooper & Huddleston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Brown died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville. She was a member of the Shiloh Church of Christ and was retired, having worked a number of years at Oshkosh B'Gosh and Acme Boot Company.

Born February 16, 1937, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Artis Clabe and Nettie B. (Haney) Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Lex Brown, Smyrna; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Sherry Brown, Seattle WA; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Tim Raymond, Seattle, WA; a brother, Bobby C. Johnson, Cookeville; a sister, Anna Bell Stafford, Bloom-ington Springs; an aunt, Myrtle Dyer, Bloomington Springs; four grandchildren, Julia Brown, Jacob Brown, Tyler Metzger, and Dan Metzger; nine grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Steve Hensley, Justin O'Conner, Jonathan Jones, Thomas Jones, Roy Johnson, and Teddy Johnson
