In 1910, the family was living in Turlock, Calif, with mar. daughter, Lavada Fields Poe, her husband, Otto and babe, Cecil E. Poe, 3 mo's. Other children in HH were Nellie J. Fields, 15 yrs; Pearl M, 12; Beulah, age 5, bn MO; and Walter L. Fields age 3, bn OK.
By 1920, they were living in Forest, Pottawatomie Co. OK, with only Beulah and Walter L. in HH.
Where Rev. Fields was ordained and when is not known to me; but he was listed as an ordained Free Will Baptist minister in the Roll of Ministers in the old Center Association (Pontotoc Co) Minutes, as early as 1915, pastoring a church at Woodland. His name appears frequently in their records after 1917, preaching, pastoring and serving on boards and committees. In the 1919 Minutes, this is recorded, "Rev. W.G. Fields was elected delegate to the Co-Operative General Association which meets at Nashville, Tennessee." In his ministerial report of 1924, "...travelled 1,430 miles; preached 106 sermons; conversions witnessed: 100; baptized 9; married two couples; conducted two funerals; receipts, $170.00."
He was living at Wanette, Pottawatomie Co. OK in the 1930 census and gave his occ. as teaching. He also pastored a church at Trousdale. His ministry was effective and did much good for those he served. He died at age 73 years.
