Long, James A. (Jiggs) age 83 of Blaine passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at home. He was preceded in death by parents, Amos and Lee Ann Long; brothers and sisters, Taylor, Estell, Virgie, Lula and Mary Long; son, James Arthur Long. He retired from Joe Howell Nursery with 55 years service. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors: wife of 64 years, Sylvia Long; sons Larry Long and wife Barbara, Don, Wayne, and Donnie Long, Rev. Hank Long and wife Patsy; daughters, Joyce Donehew, Jane Brandt, Pauline Johnson, Gail Howard and husband Randy, Robin Anweiler and husband Dale; grandchildren, Bobby and Kevin Curington, Jimmy Long, Renee McDonald, Heath Underwood, Shannon Ellis, Ruby Applegate, Julia Lamb, Ricky Johnson, David and Randy Long, Mahala, Adam and Jacob Anweiler; 22 great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be at 7:00 P.M. Monday in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Smart officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at Bridges Funeral Home and proceed to Thorn Grove Cemetery for the interment at 11:00 A.M. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M.
