Cecil Maxwell Rice, 55, died Wednesday in a Toledo, Ohio hospital after a six month illness.
A native of South Norfolk he lived in Toledo 20 years. He was an accountant with Moore Accounting & Tax Service of Toledo, a son of Arthur Eugene and Mrs. Eva Haskett Rice, and the husband of Mrs. Clara Byrd Rice.
Besides his widow, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. E.R. Dages and Mrs. J.W. Thompson of Virginia Beach, Mrs. W.R. Agee of San Mateo, Calif., and Miss Catherine Rice of Sylvania, Ohio; three sons, Robert M. Rice of Virginia Beach, John E. Rice of Germany and Michael A. Rice of Sylvania; three sisters, Miss Helen A. Rice and Mrs. W.F. Johnson of South Norfolk and Mrs. T.G. Warrick of Norfolk; and five grandchildren.
The body will be sent Tuesday to Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, for a private funeral service in Magnolia Cemetery in Berkley.
