Born in Coleman County Texas. Moved with family to SW Oklahoma (Indian Territory) in 1895. Afflicted from birth with a feeble condition. He remembered when he was about 5 years old a Dr. telling his mother not to worry about Joe going to school as he probably would not live that long. Died at age 73.

Joe never let his physical condition keep him from making a good living with his mind. Made a small fortune buying and selling land accross West Texas in the 1940's and 50's. Bought many farms and sodded land, improved them for a year or two and sold them all. But, he reserved all the mineral rights on all the land he sold.

Married to Callie Hudspeth in Oklahoma about 1930. Last home was in Amherst, Texas. Died in Lubbock Hospital and is buried close to his brothers Kenneth and Frank Bozeman
