FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN DENVER

Mrs. Caroline G. MERRILL, 70, died in St. Luke's hospital, Denver, Wednesday of last week following a long illness.

Born October 21, 1870, in Ohio, Mrs. MERRILL first came to Colorado in 1890 with her husband, the late George MERRILL. They later moved to Carrol, Nebraska, and later to Steamboat Springs. Mr. MERRILL was engaged in the lumber business and later was the first county agent employed in Routt county. Mrs. MERRILL was a pioneer member of the Congregational church in Steamboat Springs and an ardent Sunday school worker.

Mrs. MERRILL went to Denver in 1927 where she has since made her home. Funeral services were held in Denver and the body was brought to Steamboat Springs Saturday afternoon where graveside services were conducted by Rev. R. A. Dodd.

Surviving are two sons, Marcellus of Denver and Conrad of New Jersey, both of whom came to Steamboat Springs Saturday.
