Husband of Sarah (Wentworth) Mumford. First wife was Elizabeth (Ralya) Mumford (1792-1847). William was the son of David and Abigail Mumford. He was a Veteran of the War of 1812 - Pennsylvania Militia and father of nine children including: Abigail, David, William Wilson, Anthony Wayne, Rebecca, Ezra, James, Rachel and John Mumford. William's father and uncle were Revolutionary War patriots.
