Bertha Lena Hughes was born, to Edwin and Sara Evert Hughes, on October 14, 1909 in Hyannia, Grant County, Nebraska. Bertha died on May 20, 1999 in Hot Springs, Saunders County, Montana. Bertha was married to Johannes Harry Behmerwohld in 1928 in Jordan Montana. They had 3 children: Evert Miller, Harry Johannes, and Walter Edwin. In 1932, the family moved by coverd wagon to Heron, Montana. Bertha divorced and married Cy Tempero in 1940 and they had one son, Manford. Bertha had 5 step children from her second marriage: Cora Ovenicek, Leora Jensen, both deceased, Stella Sellmer of Heron, Ruth Welch and Chester Tempero of Spokane, Washington. In 1959 Bertha and Cy moved to Hot Springs, Montana.
