Actor. Born in Vienna, he was best known for being a member of The Wiere Brothers comedy team with his brothers Harry and Sylvester. Coming from a family having a long tradition in show business, he, with his brothers, formed the Wiere Brothers comedy act in 1922 and began performing in theatres and on stages. They came to America in 1935, and were headliners on the theatre and night club circuits. Their first film appearance was in "Vogues" (1937), followed by "Swing Shift Maisie and Hands Across The Border" (1943) and "Road to Río" (1947). Their last film appearance was in "Double Trouble" (1967), with Elvis Presley. They continued to appear in night clubs and regularly on television throughout the fifties, sixties and until 1970 when Sylvester Wiere died. After Sylvester's death he and his brother Harry discontinued their act. Herbert went into semi-retirement, but continued to work occasionally in television and on stage. He died of natural causes at age 91 in Simi Valley, California.
