MR. ISAAC NEWTON GINGRICH, a well-known and highly respected veteran of the Civil war, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P. L. Kilmer in Turbett township Friday, Dec. 30, 1932, aged 90 years, 3 months and 22 days.
The deceased, was born at Selinsgrove, Pa., Sept. 8, 1842 and on Sept. 16, 1861 enlisted in the Northern Army at Harrisburg and was sent to Washington, D. C., and from there to Camp Griffin, Va., where he was assigned to Co. I, 49th Regt., Penna. Volunteers. He remained in Camp Griffith until March 10th, 1862, when his regiment was called for active duty. He took part in the siege of Yorktown, also the battles of Williamsburg; Garnett's Farm; Golden Farm; and Antietam, PA.
He was a good soldier and upon his return to civil life he took up farming in Walker township, and became a good, citizen and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
He was a life-long member of the Port Royal Lutheran church.
Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P. L. Kilmer Sunday afternoon at one o'clock and the sermon was preached in the Lost Creek Mennonite church by his pastor, Rev. H. W. Webner, after which interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Isaac n. Gingrich aged 90 years, 9 months, 8 days, a Civil War Veteran, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P. L. Kilmer, of Kilmer, Penna. on Friday morning December 30 [1932] at 1:45 a.m.
The following children survive: Mrs. Mary Groninger of Mifflin, Mrs. James (Hilda) Sieber, of Akron Ohio, Mrs. George (Frances) Baker of Mechanicsburg, Mrs. James (Emma) Bashore, of Mexico, Mrs. Philip (Rena) Kilmer, of Kilmer, James Gingrich, of Linglestown, Greeley Gingrich, of Mexico, Roy of Mifflintown.
He was a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church. Services will be held Sunday afternoon from the late residence at 1:30 o'clock with further services in the Lost Creek Mennonite Church, interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
