Martinsburg Herald, February 3, 1944: CENTENNIAL P. BARDELL
Centennial P. Bardell, brother-in-law of Lloyd Smith of Piney Creek, died at his home in Altoona on Sunday, Jan. 30, at 6:30 p.m. He was a son of John [Bardell] and Mary Ann Knepp. Bardell was born in Juniata county n May 8, 1876. He was united in marriage with Margaret Smith on April 9, 1902, and she survives.
Also surviving are these children: D. Irving Bardell and Lenora, wife of Blair Linninger, both of Williamsburg, Mrs. Ruth Savage and Mrs. Jessie Royer, both at home. Also three sisters, one brother and five grandchildren.
He was a member of the Lutheran church, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers, and the Railroad Veteran's association. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in Bethany Lutheran church, Altoona, in charge of Rev. Paul Reaser, and interment was made in Fairview cemetery, Martinsburg.
