Mrs. Wood, age 93, died on Tuesday, August 30,2022 at Limestone Health and Rehab. Center in Athens, AL.
She was born on July 28,1929 in Lynn, MS, to the late Otha Ellis and Estelle Ferrell Childs and lived in Athens, AL. She was a bank teller until her retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hebert Wood, son, Billy Dan Wood, and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Furney ( Barbara) Wood of Athens, AL, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2,2022 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville. Furney Wood will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Cody Chavers, Casey Wood, Joe McCullough, Eric Birdwell, and Bryant Chavers. Burial will be in Lehrton Cemetery.
