Obituary:
Robert E. O'Neal, 62, south Kansas City died August 8, 1989, at a hospital on Whiteman Air Force Base near Knob Noster, Mo. He was born in Garden City, KS, and moved to this area in 1957. Mr. O'Neal was a pipefitter and a member of the Local 533 of the Pipe Fitters Association. He was a member of the First Church of God, Kansas City, Kan. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and served in the Air Force Reserve, retiring as a master sergeant in 1987. Survivors include his wife, "Living" O'Neal of the home; a son, Richard L. O'Neal, Kansas City; three daughters, Dolores J. Rush, DeSoto in Johnson County; "Living" Slaton, Dallas; and "Living" Eubanks, Austin, Texas; his mother, Gladys White O'Neal, Satanta, KS; two sisters, Vera L. Lane, Benton, KS; and Lavon Robertson, Birmingham, Mich; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 1 pm Friday at the church; military graveside services will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 pm today at the Mount Moriah & Freeman Chapel.

1956 - Aug. 12. He was married to his wife at the Elkhart Methodist Church, Morton Co, KS, because the sanctuary was bigger than her home church's. They were married by her pastor, Rev. J. Earl Chesnut.
His new in-laws were: John Henderson Ullom (1904-1992) and Maurine Hester LaRue (1907-1994)
