Mrs. Parks was born May 13,1917, in Bancroft, Neb., to Arthur and Mary Johnson Clark. Her family moved to Flagler when she was a small child, and she grew up and attended school there. She was married to Virgil McFarlin and lived in the Anton community for several years.

On July 24,1954, she married Virgal Parks, and they farmed and ranched south of Akron for 35 years. They especially enjoyed being together working on their home, visiting friends or harvesting their crops, and they were active members of the Anton Bethel Union Church.

Mrs. Parks enjoyed the visits of her grandchildren to the farm.

The Parkses retired from farming and moved to Fort Morgan in 1989 where they lived until his death in 1994. In 1996, she moved to Ault to be closer to her family. She enjoyed maintaining her close friendships from Akron and Fort Morgan after she moved. She also enjoyed attending school functions and athletic events with her great-grandsons.
