Jean Thompson, 84, died June 23 in Vancouver, Wash., from complications of clostridium difficile bacteria.Born in Leon, Iowa, Jean was the last of nine children to Jessie and Ella Adair.She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Gerald Gene Thompson; one sister; and seven brothers.Gene and Jean were married in Bremerton, Wash., on Dec. 15, 1944, and moved subsequently to San Diego after World War II, where daughter Alanna and son Roy were born. In 1949 the family moved to Jefferson, then Albany. Jean is survived by her daughter, Alanna Spinrad of Corvallis; son Roy Thompson of Vancouver; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.The family will celebrate her life July 17 in Vancouver.
