She was born on Dec. 11, 1917, in a farmhouse in Metamora, where Snyder Village sits today, the daughter of Joseph and Amanda (Winkler) Durst. She married Carl E. Fauber on July 25, 1934, in Peoria. He passed away on April 3, 1997.
Six brothers, Howard, Harlan, Quentin "Jim," Cliff, Joe and Wesley Durst, preceded her in death.
She was the owner and operator of Faubers Greenhouse and Florist in Metamora from 1943 until 1975.
She was an American Legion Auxiliary-Spring Bay Member for over 50 years.
She was a member of Metamora Christian Union Church.
