According to Milo Biographies by Frank W. Keniston in 1945, Nelson W. McNaughton was the son of Thomas S. and Elizabeth (McCullam) McNaughton. He was born in Milo,Maine March 28,1858, and died in Milo,Maine, May 2,1919.
December 5, 1891 he married Emma Arletta Dodge, who was born in Burnham, Maine. They have no living children.


Nelson W. McNaughton died at his home on Park Street Saturday morning, aged a little over sixty. He is survived by his wife, two brothers,James and Alton of Milo,and a sister,Mrs. Ida Durgin of Bangor,who came to Milo Monday morning. Services were held at 2 o'clock at the home. Dirigo Lodge,I.O.O.F.,attended in a body and conducted the service of the order. Mr. McNaughton was well known in Milo and at one time was proprietor of McNaughton Sporting Camps.
