Our hearts are stricken with unutterable grief. Our daughter and sister, Mrs. Edith Crosse Gleason, is no more. At her home in Ashland, WI on the 18th inst. death came so suddenly and unexpectedly that we are dazed, bewildered, crushed by the terrible bereavement. Edith J. Crosse was born in Sun Prairie on March 11, 1860, entered the University at Madison in 1874, graduated from the Modern Classical Course in 1880. On Christmas day, 1883, she was married to Mr. Ed F. Gleason, who was a member of her college class. They at once took up their residence in Ashland, where Mr. Gleason had established himself in the practice of his profession, the law. At the time of her death, they had just entered upon the enjoyment of an elegant home, the completion, and adornment of which had elicited their utmost interest and enthusiasm. Besides her husband and family relatives who loved her so dearly, she leaves an infant daughter, 13 days old. We hazard nothing in saying that no one knew her who did not love, honor, and respect her.
