Note: the inscription on the tombstone suggests that the death date above is actually the date that her obituary was published, so she likely died several days earlier.
Mary was the daughter of Ebenezer Hidden and Elizabeth Story. She was married first in Ipswich, Mass. on 3 June 1731 to Josiah Martin, b. c. 1706, died 8 Nov 1745 "on his passage from Cape Breton." She then married in Ipswich on 25 July 1749, as his second wife, Daniel Giddings. Mary died of smallpox.
Mary is buried in the Green Street Cemetery, but does not have her own marker. Her vital statistics are given at the base of the tombstone of her daughter-in-law, Prudence Martin, wife of her son Ebenezer.
