Donna J. Thoren, 85, passed away March 11, 2017 at the Peaks Care Center.
She was born June 22, 1931 in Milton, Iowa to Homer and Eva (Herget) Fite. Donna moved with her family to Longmont at the age of three and graduated in 1949 from Longmont High School.
Donna worked for Brown's Shoe Fit on Main Street in Longmont, then met Don Clark, a handsome young man in a Marine Corps uniform, and they were married in 1949. They lived for a time in Massachusetts and then in Evans, CO until 1978, when she returned to Longmont. On December 6, 1980 she married Richard Thoren in Arvada, CO and they lived in Longmont.
Donna devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Although for a short time she worked at Herb Johns tool shop in 1978.
Donna loved all pets and music, especially symphonies. She enjoyed traveling, including many trips with other Senior Citizens. Her travels included trips to Holland, Germany and Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and three sisters Margaret Bice, Evelyn Tompkins and LaVohn Matt.
Donna is survived by three children Dane Clark (Nancy) of Pahrump, NV, Dale Clark (Emily) of Katy, TX and Lynn Clark (Ed Mead) of Lafayette, CO; four grandchildren Greg Rutz, Jeremy Rachel, and Julia Clark; two great grandchildren Jordan and Mason Rutz; and step-children Terry Dempsey, Cindy Protsman, Cathy Hallett, and Rick Thoren.
At her request no memorial service will be held. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Boulder Humane Society.
