In 1913, Frederick F. Peabody formed a partnership with the Cluett family, forming Cluett, Peabody and Co. Inc. Frederick Peabody developed an advertising campaign in 1915, hired well-known commercial artist J. C. Leyendecker, and made Arrow collars, and later, Arrow shirts household names in America. Utilizing his Arrow shirt fortune, Peabody became a major philanthropist in his later years.
