MRS. PERRY GOODWIN LAID TO REST
Sorrowing friends in such numbers, that they filled the home to overflowing, gathered at the residence of Mr. Perry Goodwin Thursday afternoon for the funeral services of Mrs. Goodwin.
One of those warm-hearted splendid women, whose lives bless those with whom they come in contact, and who will be greatly missed, not only in the home, but in the church and among many friends, those unable to get in the house willingly stood outside throughout the entire service in respectful tribute. The services were most appreciative, conducted by Rev. H. A. Wingard, who was pastor of the Christian church when Mrs. Goodwin became a member, Rev. Bowman Hostetler, the present pastor, assisting.
Rev. Wingard followed the reading of the memoir with a beautiful talk, making touching allusion to his own feeling for Mrs. Goodwin; to her worth as a noble Christian woman, and to her wonderful patience in suffering. Second only to the devotion given to her husband and young daughter, was Mrs. Goodwin's interest in her church, and her loss will be keenly felt in all its services and organizations.
The hymns, "Jesus Lover of My Soul," and "Asleep in Jesus," were sung by Rev. Hostetler, Mrs. Oran Toops and Miss Mabel Jones.
A profusion of beautiful flowers lay around the quiet sleeper. In addition to those from neighbors and friends, there was a wreath from the Dahl-Millikan Co.; designs from the Loyal Daughters, the Aid Society and Mrs. Goodwin's Sunday School class of the Christian Church, and wreath from Zanesville relatives.
A number of sympathetic friends accompanied Mr. Goodwin and daughter to the cemetery for the final services.
Acting as pall-bearers were: Messrs. W. H. Skinner, Boyd Skinner, Albert Skinner, of Atlanta; Mr. C. E. Goodwin, of New Plymouth; Mr. F. P. Weller, of Urbana, and Mr. A. L. Parker, of Van Wert.
Relatives who came from a distance were Mrs. Rachel Dozer, of Zanesville; Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Parker, Van Wert; Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Skinner and family, Atlanta; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Skinner, Atlanta; Mr. F. P. Weller, of Urbana; Mr. C. E. Goodwin, New Plymouth; Mrs. Ona Judy, Laurelville.
