Death claimed a loving wife and devoted mother when it came at 5:40 Thursday evening to claim Mrs. Caroline Ernst, wife of Joseph Ernst, at the family home on Old Oxford Road west of Hamilton, at the age of 42 years. The death of Mrs. Ernst came rather unexpectedly after a brief illness, during which everything possible was done in her behalf to prolong her life which had been one of exceptional devotion to her home and family. Mrs. Ernst was born near Selkirk, O., March 4, 1889, and was well known throughout that section of Butler County. She was a kind and loving wife and mother and loved by all who knew her. She was a devout member of St. Peter's Church and belonged to all of the women's societies of that congregation. She leaves the widower, Joseph Ernst; eight children; four brothers, Joseph, Peter, George, and Charles Huber; four sisters, Sister Catherine of St Anthony's, Cincinnati, Mrs. Jacob Schneider, Miss Elizabeth Huber, and Mrs. Edward Kelly and a large circle of friends. Funeral services will be held from the family residence, Monday, 8:45 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. from St Peter's Church. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Friends may call at the home Sunday afternoon and evening.
