Mrs. Mary Thompson, wife of Robert Thompson, died at her residence one mile south of this village, last Saturday, of pneumonia. Mrs. Thompson was a daughter of Benjamin Knight one of the early settlers here. Her first husband, Mr. John Foster, died in 1863, leaving her with three children, Evans, Eliza and Carl. In 1867 she was married to Robert Thompson, and three young children, the fruit of this union, are left to mourn her loss. She was about 48 years old at the time of her death and was highly respected and beloved by all who knew her. The funeral services were conducted at the M.E. Church, in this village, Monday afternoon, and were very largely attended. Sun Prairie Countryman 12/8/1881
