Lawrence Edward Hedden TIFFIN: Lawrence Edward Hedden, 92, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 27, 2010 at Fostoria Community Hospital.
Lawrence was born April 9, 1918 in Kansas to the late Edward Phillip and Maude (Humbert) Hedden. He married Marjorie Pearl Johnson and she died September 29, 2010. Marjorie and Lawrence celebrated 74 years of marriage August 25, 2010.
Surviving are two sons, David Edward (Sharon) Hedden, Tiffin and Larry Ronald (Irene) Hedden, Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Christopher (Jennifer) and Gregory (Cyndi); four great grandchildren, Josh, Alaina, Brevyn and Brycetyn.
He was also preceded in death by siblings, Helen Yoder, Leah Niemota, Susan Gee, Pauline Pasch, Fred, Harold and Paul Hedden.
Lawrence grew up in Kansas and attended Jackson-Liberty Schools. He was a limestone plant worker, and had been employed by Dolite and then Pfizer, retiring as a supervisor of operations in 1981 after 44 years of service. He was very active in the Kansas Volunteer Fire Department and instrumental in construction of the present day Fire Station located in Kansas.
Visitation is Saturday 4:30-7:00 p.m. at MANN-HARE-HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, Ohio 44830 (419-435-6694). A celebration of life funeral service will take place Sunday 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial following in Kansas Cemetery.
