William Francis "Frank" Compton was a Methodist minister. During the War Between the States, he served in Co. B, 12th Texas Cavalry, Parson's Brigade in the Confederate States Army for 4 years. He was married twice. About 1863, he married Mary A. "Mollie" High in Limestone Co., TX and they had two daughters, Margaret Emma and Mary Angelina. After Mollie High Compton's death, he married Jerusha A. Rives in 1871 in Liberty Co., TX. They were parents of a daughter, Crowell Compton, and a son, Robert Botter Compton.
