Cricket was the 3rd child who lived, born to Marksey & Ardelia Todd around DeQueen, in Sevier County, Arkansas. Born, and died, in the same area, the only other place she ever lived was a time spent in McCurtain Co., Oklahoma. She was a character and was the most out-spoken member of this family. You could count on getting her honest opinion whether you wanted it or not.

Cricket married Frank Mantonya 28 Dec 1910, in Sevier Co., Arkansas. They were not married long but had a son named Arthur Lee Mantonya. Born in 1912, He preceeded her in death in 1969. He died in Garza County, Texas.

On 31 Dec 1932, she married Grover Cleveland "Cleve" Hendrix in Sevier County, Arkansas and they lived there the remainder of their lives. Althought he had a son from a previous marriage that lived with grandparents, Cleve and Cricket had no children together. They had a little farm and there, they took care of Ardelia McCurdy Todd, Cricket's mother and our GreatGrandmother, until her death in 1958. Cleve preceeded Cricket in death. He died April, 1969.

Our great aunt Cricket was for my cousin and I, one of the most memorable people in our hearts and minds as children. While one of us was raised near her and the other only met her once, she stands out in our memories as a strong and important member of our family. It is our hope to locate and connect all of our GreatGrandmother's children. This is a project very near and dear to our hearts and finding Aunt Cricket has been a large part of that. We have now found all of our GGrandmother Todd's children but one. Our great aunt Annie died at around 18 and we do not know where she is buried as yet.

This memorial is a collaborative effort of information by Cricket's Grand Nieces - N. Whisenhunt and K. Todd Sherer regardless of whose name is on the actual management.

Well Cuz, we are one step closer....
