Emanuel Lehr, son of Andrew Sr. and Fredricka (Aman) Lehr was born at Hillsview in McPherson County, April 3, 1902. He married Martha Docktor, June 30, 1924 at Ashley, North Dakota. Martha was born December 6, 1904, near Venturia, North Dakota to Jacob Docktor and Margaret (Stoecker) Docktor. Four children were born to them. One child, Leslie died in infancy and the living are: Virginia, Leah, and Myron Patrick. They lived at Hillsview until 1945, when they moved to the Roscoe area on the farm east of Roscoe known as the Adam Hofer farm. Due to well failure, the farm was moved to the present location where Myron now lives. Martha Lehr died September 23, 1953, at Roscoe. Emanuel married Helen (Opp), Mrs. Rudolph Fischer, September 10, 1955. Helen Ester was born at Leola, South Dakota October 28, 1911, to Daniel D. Opp and Katherina (Hoff) Opp. Helen has a son, Marshall. Mr. and Mrs. Lehr continued to live on the farm a couple more years, when they moved the school house that was four miles west of Roscoe to town and remodeled it for a house. Emanuel passed away March 29, 1993, and is buried next to Martha in the Roscoe Morningside cemetery. Helen died in April, 1985 and is buried at the Green Mound Cemetery with her first husband and parents. Source: Roscoe, SD 1883-2008.
