Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Fred J. Albers, age 79, of St. Cloud will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Fred died on March 24, 2010 in Tucson, AZ as a result of a motorcycle accident. Entombment will be in the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum with full military honors.

Family and friends may call between 4-9 pm on Tuesday and after 9 am on Wednesday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Holy Spirit parish prayers will be at 5:30 pm on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Fred was born on March 15, 1931 in St. Cloud to Fred B. and Rose (Michels) Albers. He served in the US Army from 1952-54. He married Mildred Winter on Sept. 6, 1954 at St. Mary's Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta, MN. She died on Sept. 13, 1999. He married Mary Ann Linz on May 4, 2001 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Farming, MN. He was employed as a letter carrier at the US Postal Service for many years retiring in 1992. He was a member of Holy Spirit parish, American Legion Post 621 of St. Augusta, Loyal Order of the Moose, Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus Council 12098, Central Minnesota Wings Motorcycle Club, St. Augusta Blizzard Busters Snowmobile Club and the National Association of Letter Carriers.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ann, children: Kevin (Joanie Ault) of St. Augusta, Terry (Michele) of Willmar and Sharon (Bruce Fischer) Marquardt of Kimball, eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; stepchildren: Dave (Debbie) Linz and Randy (Milissa) Linz both of Richmond, Curt (Mary) Linz of Dallas, TX, Bob (Linda) Linz of Watkins, Shelly (Ron) Davis of Butte, MT, Ann (Kevin) Purnell of Minnetonka, MN, Peggy (Bobbie) Lade of Lester Prairie, MN and Nancy (Shawn) Kulavik of Rockford, MN, 22 step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Ken (Hermie), Rollie (Renae), and Georgia (Vernon) Koshiol all of Luxemburg, Rosie (Larry) Hinkemeyer of Mt. Prospect, IL, Delores (Merrill) Hinkemeyer of Cold Spring, Virgie (Floyd) Beumer of Rockville, Bernie (Thomas) Swanson of Mesa, AZ and Milton (Joyce) of Plymouth, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Mildred, son in law Ron Marquardt and granddaughter Amy Marquardt.
