Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Holy Family Catholic Church in Roy. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. Paul Nkumbi as celebrant. Burial will be in Roy Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.
Mr. Smith was born Dec. 10, 1935, in Panhandle, Texas, to Othie N. and Gladys Winters Smith. He graduated in 1953 from Clayton High School and joined the U.S. Navy on Jan. 12, 1954.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia Smith; two daughters, Rita Smith of Las Vegas and Virginia Smith of Roy; a son, Donald Smith of Santa Rosa, Calif.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Anita Kelley of Dalhart, Texas; and two brothers, Gerald Smith of Fort Worth, Texas, and Clifford Smith of Tucson, Ariz.
