Clarraine Timmer, 71, of Rock Valley, died Sunday, September 1, 1991, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pioneer United Methodist Church of Rock Valley, with the Rev. Ron Johnson officiating. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery.

Mrs. Timmer, the former Clarraine Vander Schaaf, was born Nov. 6, 1919, at Hull, Iowa, the daughter of James and Dora (Te Slaa) Vander Schaaf. She graduated from Hull High School and earned her bachelor's degree in education from Northwestern College at Orange City.

She married George Timmer June 7, 1947, at Sioux City. They lived in Rock Valley, and she taught in country schools, then at Rock Valley Public School, until her retirement in 1984.

She was a member of Pioneer United Methodist Church and the UMW. She was a member of the ISEA and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Douwie Vander Schaaf.

Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley was in charge of arrangements.
