It has been said that Jonathan was at Valley Forge at the same time as General George Washington (1777-1778). He was not Washington's drummer boy according to: "From a Sketchbook of Indiana History," By: Arville L. Funk, pgs 17/18, it states that Sergeant John George from Indiana was Washington's drummer boy.
Jonathan is the son of William Sr. (of James Sr., Josiah Sr., and Nathaniell Treadaway) and Mary Tubbs.
He married Hannah Rood, daughter of Jeremiah Rood and Hanna Grover, on 5 January 1777 in Lebanon, Connecticut, Windham County.
