William E. Arndt Laid to Rest

William Ernest Arndt was laid to rest Tuesday afternoon in the Big Sandy cemetery following services held in Big Sandy. A large crowd of friends and associates for many years attended the services.

William Ernest Arndt was born Aug. 24, 1867, near Berlin, Germany, son of William and Johanna (Baum) Arndt. He came to Big Sandy in 1947, homesteading near Leroy. For the past two years he had lived in Big Sandy, going last fall to visit a daughter in Iowa. A short time ago he returned home and gone to visit a son at Leroy. He was stricken with apoplexy April 7 at his son's and died shortly after.

He is survived by the following; his wife, five daughters, Mrs. Clara Phillips, of Valley City, N.D., Mrs. Arvil Sill, of Eagle Grove, Iowa, Mrs. Roy Artis, of Valley City, Mrs. Lee Dennis, of Yuma, Ariz., and Mrs. Jack More of Bonner's Ferry, Idaho; and by two sons, Alfred of Big Sandy, and Charles of Leroy.
